Over raw MCP stdio, save_session_checkpoint wrote a 1.2 KB .claude-checkpoint with goal, tasks, next steps, decisions, git branch/HEAD and content hashes of the 2 dirty files; it redacted an sk-ant-style key and a password=value pair. load_session_checkpoint returned a compact markdown brief and correctly flagged the one file edited after the save ('Changed after the checkpoint, re-read before editing: b.txt'). Loading with no checkpoint says 'Nothing to resume; start fresh.' It warns when .claude-checkpoint is not git-ignored.",
